NNL apprenticeships: where anything is possible

Our 2022 Apprenticeship Programme is now live and open for applications.

As the UK’s national lab for nuclear fission, the most important asset for our future success is our people. We are determined to secure next generation of talented professionals with the skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm to fuel our purpose. People with skills in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and business administration to join us as permanent employees in September 2022. People who can be part of our future, who can push the limits of what’s possible, excel in their chosen field and make a difference to society.

Our apprentices are our future, which is why we challenge them, stretch them, and support them to continue their learning journey, while taking that initial career step into the exciting and innovative UK nuclear industry. All our apprentices work on challenging projects, learn from industry experts, undertake practical training and work towards recognised qualifications; and will join a workforce with some of the most creative and inspired scientific minds in our sector, in the world. Supporting our work to harness nuclear science to help solve some of the world’s biggest challenges – from achieving net zero to delivering lifesaving healthcare.

Next week is National Apprenticeship Week. Throughout the week, we are holding a host of Virtual Apprenticeship Careers awareness sessions, giving students and their parents the opportunity to learn more about our apprenticeship programmes.

Our sessions include skills-building workshops, industry insights and help with applications; plus, new sessions specifically for women looking to enter the sector, and for opportunities for parents and guardians to find out more about opportunities for their children.

If you or someone you know is interested in taking your first step into the nuclear industry, join us at one of our virtual apprenticeship events, and learn more about our programmes, our ground-breaking scientific research and why there’s never been a more exciting time to be part of the nuclear sector.
