Established in 2008, the National Nuclear Laboratory brought together the UK’s nuclear research and development capability into one organisation. Our workforce represents a combined 10,000 years of expertise in nuclear science and technology and we’re continuing to grow.

We don’t take a profit. Instead, we call the money we make Earnings to Reinvest. It all goes back into the business to develop science, innovation technology and our people.

Our Central Laboratory is the most modern and advanced facility of its kind in the world. Find out more about this and our other outstanding facilities.

Safety is our number one priority. We make this clear through our values and behaviours and our policies and training.
