Nuclear Energy – A Kid’s Guide

Electricity is powering lots of things around us all the time – things that are plugged into sockets and
things that run on batteries.

Making sure we have enough electricity to power the things we need is hard work, especially as the
world is tackling climate change at the same time.

Nuclear Energy video

We’ve made a short video, to explain how most electricity is generated and tell you a little bit about
nuclear fuel and how it works.

Energy from nuclear can be used for purposes other than electricity. The heat can be used to heat homes and industry.

What could the future look like?

Our Lego® model shows how different energy sources can be combined to reach net zero and provide the energy we need. We’ve built a model of an integrated energy system where energy is generated from multiple sources and is used in lots of different ways. Nuclear energy will work with all other sources of energy to deliver a clean energy future.

Production of the Lego model

Our model took over 4 months to make and contains over 20,000 pieces of Lego. Check out the time lapse video of it being built.
