Working within the PMO office, the risk practitioner will be required to support the risk manager on ensuring that there is an efficient, effective and comprehensive approach to risk management. Providing effective controls and assurance to minimise risk events, which result in a negative impact to the organisation / employees / assets and poor customer outcomes, reputational damage or regulatory scrutiny / intervention. 

Will be expected to have a good knowledge and understanding of risk management processes and applicable analytical skills, procedures, and tools (such as Active Risk Manager – ARM) by working closely with fellow risk professionals, Project Managers and teams to collate and challenge inputs to the risk database ensuring they are underpinned.

The role holder will be a member of the facility infrastructure and compliance team and complement the established team in supporting a facility modernisation project.

The Waste and Environment Officer role will be primarily owning and delivering decommissioning solutions and effective approaches to safe and compliant disposal of redundant assets and hazardous/radioactive waste in support of a facility improvement project.

At the forefront of the role is providing a service that ensures waste is managed, sentenced and exported in a cost effective and compliant manner. The role also needs to be forward looking to anticipate longer term needs of customers and stakeholders of the Preston Facility and working with the compliance and capability teams and other subject matter experts in ensuring that all wastes from the full lifecycle of the facility improvement project is managed.

The role holder will require a hands-on and can do mindset, combined with sound communication skills to influence stakeholders and collaborate across multidiscipline teams to create alignment in delivering an effective service to the facility.

Responsible for setting a framework of delivery, ensuring statutory, regulatory and mandatory maintenance compliance, whilst satisfying both current and future management of NNL’s asset base, aligned to the strategic requirements of the business.

The Methods Manager (Asset Reliability Manager) role operates across the organisation and there is flexibility in the base location (Warrington, Preston, Sellafield or Workington) with regular travel to the other locations a requirement of the role.
