This report provides an update on UKNNL's ED&I journey for 2024-25, covering gender, ethnicity, and disability pay gaps. Our median gender pay gap has continued to narrow to 8.3%, well below the nuclear industry average of 18.9%, driven by improved representation of women in senior roles. This year, we introduce our disability pay gap for the first time, which shows no opportunity bias, though the lived experience of colleagues with a disability requires further attention. Our ethnicity pay gap remains at 8.3%, with ongoing recruitment bias requiring targeted action. While progress has been made, we recognise there is more to do and remain committed to building a truly inclusive workplace for all.

As the UK's lead civil national laboratory for nuclear fission, UKNNL reinvests its earnings into research and development that addresses some of the most pressing challenges in nuclear decommissioning — from robotics and AI-assisted remote operations to advanced waste treatment and geological disposal.
