NNL is seeking a Non-Executive Director

The UK Government is seeking a non-Executive Director to join the National Nuclear Laboratory board to advise on all matters relating to the Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality (EHSS&Q); and Chair NNL’s Technology Advisory Board.

NNL are looking specifically for a senior leader with a deep and wide technical understanding of civil nuclear technology, able to advise as a non-executive, on matters to do with EHSSQ and nuclear technology having held positions of senior responsibility for nuclear safety and security.

A recognised leader in nuclear in the UK, the chair of the EHSS&Q Committee and Technology Advisory Board will be responsible for providing an overview of organisational performance on:

  • Environment, Health, and Safety
  • Nuclear Safety Committee
  • Nuclear and Information Security

They will advise the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee; assuring the NNL Board that the business is undertaking all required actions to achieve its objectives within these areas. And also chair the Technology Advisory Board; advising the NNL Board on all matters relating to Science, Technology and Engineering and how best to direct its future research and investment.
