Workington MP learns about nuclear innovation at Central Lab

As the UK’s national lab for nuclear fission, our talented people and facilities are truly an asset to UK and global nuclear research and development. Last week we invited Mark Jenkinson, MP for Workington, into Central Lab. Located within Sellafield in West Cumbria, Central Lab is a key asset to the UK and global nuclear research and development and a key asset to help realise the UK’s science superpower ambitions

Mark Jenkinson MP met with NNL’s scientists to learn about the lab’s work on a range of areas where nuclear science is benefitting society – from environmental restoration to our advanced fuels programme – ensuring we have sovereign UK manufacturing capabilities once again. He is pictured with NNL scientists Ian Vatter and Amy Kite, who explained NNL’s work on electron microscopy to support UK’s existing nuclear fleet.
