Executive Appointment – Commercial Director

Nexia Solutions has appointed Phil Robson to head up our Commercial Team. Phil joined us on 2nd April 2007 from NIS Ltd where he was Commercial Director. NIS manage our Technology Centre at Workington and we have worked closely and successfully with Phil and his team over the past few years. As we move the Nexia Solutions business forward, the Commercial Director’s role will include a much greater degree of business development with new customers both in the UK and overseas. This represents a significant change to our commercial drivers. Phil will provide the leadership necessary to establish the right commercial framework as Nexia Solutions continues to transform into the National Nuclear Laboratory. His broad experience in the market place and his excellent track record of business development will be a major asset to our business in the future. Phil replaces Ric Baldwin who decided to step down. Ric joined the Nexia Solutions Executive just under two years ago and was responsible for establishing the necessary contracting arrangements as we transformed our business into a more commercial entity. With a requirement to develop strong relationships with BNGSL, NDA, Reactor Sites and Springfields, and to work with Government on establishing a National Nuclear Lab, Ric’s experience as the former Head of BNFL Alfa meant that he was ideally placed to lead this phase. Ric’s contribution to our business has been excellent and we expect that over the next few months he will have achieved everything that he came to the business to do. Peter Bleasdale, Managing Director said “I would like to thank Ric for his support and achievements with Nexia Solutions, and his 20 years with both Springfields Fuels and the BNFL Group. The whole of our business has benefited from Ric’s contribution and I have personally valued his continued support very highly. I wish him all the very best for the future.”
