Dalton Cumbria Facility

Nexia Solutions fully supports the initiative taken by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) and Dalton Institute to establish a Nuclear Institute to support skills development in West Cumbria.

The Nuclear Institute will bring even greater levels of scientific research excellence to West Cumbria.

Nexia Solutions will work with both organisations to create and drive the link between the Nuclear Institute and the new Technology Centre at Sellafield.

Operated by Nexia Solutions on behalf of the NDA, the Technology Centre is a world class facility and is a focal point for nuclear related research and technology in the UK. It provides the means and stimulus for current and future generations of scientists to support the challenges faced by the industry.

Nexia Solutions Managing Director Dr Peter Bleasdale said: “With Nexia Solutions having the mission to protect the nuclear technology capability for the UK, we see this major investment in science based skills as a very important step for West Cumbria and the nation.

“We are delighted to be involved via the new Technology Centre at Sellafield. The Centre is pivotal to nuclear research and technology in the UK and supports commercial technology services for customers and the national interest. By delivering value for customers, including British Nuclear Group and UKAEA, Nexia Solutions is pleased to make its contribution to the funding of these initiatives.”
