NNL wins contract to deliver skills to UK nuclear industry

NNL has won a contract with the National Skills Academy for Nuclear to provide two courses which will be delivered to all new entrants on UK nuclear sites. The contract, won as part of a competitive tender, see NNL responsible for developing the  “Basic  Nuclear Industry Context” course (BNIC) and “Basic Nuclear Industry Behaviour” (BNIB) course. The BNIC will provide a broad introduction to the current nuclear industry by looking at how the industry has evolved over the past half century. The BNIB sets out the expectations of workers on nuclear sites in terms of health, safety and general approach. The two courses will be delivered at every nuclear site in the UK and will be available as an e learning package from the National Skills Academy for Nuclear web site, along with a third, site specific induction course. The course will form part of National Skills Academy for Nuclear nuclear’s skills passport. Paul Renshaw, People Services Director. “This is a positive step for NNL, exemplifying the important contribution we want to make to the nuclear skills agenda in the UK.
