Decision Science

Nathan joined the Decision Science team in 2016, having previously spent 13 years within NNL in a variety of other roles and business areas, after initially having started as a Scientific Apprentice. These roles included Project Management, Laboratory work at NNL's Central Laboratory, and Technical Assistant at NNL's Windscale Laboratory.

He graduated from the Open University with a First Class Honours degree in Maths & Statistics, and is currently undertaking a Masters degree in the same subject at Sheffield University.

Already during his time with the team, Nathan has worked on:

  • Logistic Linear Regression undertaken on data related to drums held within the Encapsulated Product Store at Sellafield.
  • Understanding and implementation of complex R code related to the HALES project at Sellafield.
  • Research into statistical methods to be used in models, such as bootstrapping and mixed effects modelling.
